I want to surprise my brother and buy him a Valentine One V1 Radar V1.8—POP2 with Euro Mode. There are a few on ebay, but how can i know if its been stolen? and if i buy a stolen one will i get in trouble?

You won't get in trouble, but the detector will not be under factory warranty and is not eligible for updates. I would buy one directly from Valentine Research with the latest software. Usually it only ends up costing you 40-50$ more.

Im looking at getting one, my best friend loves the v1 but the escort is supposedly the best, i would like to hear from owners that have either of them.

I just picked up the escort 9500ix 3days ago, upgraded from a cobra i had for 6 years, i gotta say this thing is nuts!! you dont have to do anything, it will take all those annoying false alerts and after you've past the same location that keeps setting

I've recently bought a V1 off ebay a few days ago. It plugs in and powers up just fine, but I'm not getting any signals at all even on analog. What should I do? I'm afraid of a imitation V1 because I did pay 300 for it.

Return it ASAP - if the seller is legitimate he'll either replace it or give you your money back.

Did you do your homework and check the sellers feedback and all that prior to buying from them?
