Escort, BEL & Valentine One are by far the best radar detectors in the market.

I wouldn't hesitate to spend the extra $100 to replace the Cobra you have now if they'll let you do the swap. Far better at filtering out the false detections

just bought a Cobra XRS 9740 radar detector?

one of my friends just bought me a new Cobra XRS 9740 detector and i passed a couple of cops today and it didnt pick up a signal. theres a bunch of settings and modes on the thing and i kno nothing about them. it picked up a freakin door opener at a walgreens


A radar detector detects radar not cops. They probably weren't running radar. The fact that your detector alerted to a door opener shows that it's functioning.
