Yes, your radar detector is perfectly legal in New Jersey. Radar detectors are only illegal in Virginia and Wash, D.C. (and military bases).

first of all the price has alot to do with the radar laser dtector /scanner. the cobra if u are on a budget is great i have a cobra and it works awesome i have the XRS 9730. and i go 100 on the highway all the time to my job have not gotten a speeding

no, they are legal

radar detectors are only illegal in 1 state which is Virginia, the District of Columbia also bans radar detectors. You can only use them in Non-commercial Vehicles too.

Radar detectors do their job. They are basically all the same.

That said, the police in most areas have gone back to the older models of radar, and just click the power on and off when neccessary.
